CMP Accounting Professional Corporation (“CMP Accounting”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information entrusted to us by clients and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may disclose personal information to:
- The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government authorities as required to provide our services or comply with legal obligations
- Our professional liability insurer and CPA Ontario in connection with regulatory compliance
- Third-party service providers who assist us in delivering our services (e.g., cloud storage, document management software), under strict confidentiality agreements
- Law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law
4. Professional Confidentiality
As a CPA firm, CMP Accounting is bound by the CPA Ontario Code of Professional Conduct, which imposes strict obligations of confidentiality with respect to client information. We treat all client financial information as strictly confidential and maintain appropriate physical, administrative, and technical safeguards.
5. Retention of Records
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal and professional obligations (including CRA’s six-year record retention requirement), and to resolve disputes. Upon expiry of retention periods, information is securely destroyed.
6. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website uses cookies and analytics tools (including Shopify’s built-in analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, some functionality may be affected. We do not use tracking cookies to serve targeted advertising.

8. FINTRAC / Anti-Money Laundering
As a public accounting firm, CMP Accounting is subject to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA). In certain circumstances, we are required to collect, verify, and report client identification information to the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC). This is a legal obligation and forms part of Canada’s anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing regime.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
